Planting Palooza

So tired.........

We are at the farm now from 8am until 6pm or 7pm.  Soon it will be earlier.  We have just completed the first full week of non stop planting.  Thousands upon thousands of seeds.  So while some things are beginning to awaken:

Some of us are beginning to putter out at the pace:

Will update more regularly after this, the week has been rough, and I have officially lost my phone... sigh....

Getting Ready... More

Moving shavings one handful at a time is a great activity. J's birthday is on Thursday, we got her 25 very special surprises...  We have been getting ready for their arrival, she of course has no idea what we are doing.  She is under the impression we got her a bag of shavings as a gift, she couldn't be happier. Pit Stop We are racing to catch up after the storm that hit the East Coast.  We were already cutting it close with getting started this year and the storm only delayed us more.  With this being a new venture, all the equipment is also new (to us) and all has little things that have to be fixed (hit repeatedly with a hammer and mumbled at furiously) before we can use it. But we are getting there!  We have started our seeds in our heated greenhouse!  It is hard (for me) to imagine but each of these trays have about 5000 seeds in them.  Everything from eggplants, peppers, lettuce, cabbage, chard, kale, to beets and many in between. Spring onions

Come one come all!

We grow over 100 different varieties of vegetables, strawberries and asparagus as well as cut flowers.  We have a very heavy farmers market schedule this year and will also be looking for the right employee to help with the markets some days.  We are also starting up a cold pressed juice product this year to compliment our produce offerings.
